Come on in.

Welcome to Muddy Boots Motherhood

Hi, I’m glad you’re here.

This space—Muddy Boots Motherhood—was born out of real life. The kind of life that’s a little messy, a little loud, often barefoot, and usually happening somewhere between snack time and nap time. The kind of life where there’s always dirt on the floor, laundry in the dryer you forgot about, and at least one half-finished craft project on the table.

And honestly? I’ve started to love it here.

This blog is a place for motherhood in its most real form. Not the perfectly curated version. Not the “everything is always organized and glowing” version. But the version where we’re figuring it out as we go, raising kids, building rhythms, making memories, and trying to keep our sanity somewhere in the mix.

Why “Muddy Boots”?

Because that’s what this season of life feels like.

Muddy boots mean:

  • Kids who come in from outside with dirt on their knees and stories in their pockets
  • Days spent exploring instead of perfectly scheduling
  • Learning to be okay with mess because the joy usually comes with it

It’s not about perfection, it’s about presence.

What You’ll Find Here

This blog is a mix of everything I’m living and loving right now:

  • Simple DIY projects for kids and home life
  • Outdoor play ideas that don’t require a Pinterest-perfect setup
  • Homeschool and early learning inspiration
  • Book ideas and literacy moments woven into everyday life
  • Real motherhood—routines, rhythms, and honest reflections
  • Budget-friendly ways to make childhood feel big and meaningful

If it helps make life with little ones feel a little more doable, it belongs here.

My Hope for This Space

I don’t think motherhood needs more pressure. We already carry enough of that.

What I do think we need more of is permission:

  • Permission to keep things simple
  • Permission to let kids get messy
  • Permission to build a life that actually fits our real days, not an idealized version of them

If you leave here with even one small idea that makes your day easier or more joyful, then this space is doing what it was meant to do.

Come As You Are

Whether you’re here because you love creative play, you’re looking for homeschool ideas, or you just needed a reminder that you’re not the only one living in a slightly chaotic season of life, you’re welcome here.

Kick off your boots. Stay a while.

There’s probably paint on the table and something baking in the oven.

And that feels about right.
